Conversion Rate
A conversion rate is the share of items at one stage that move to the next, for example replies to meetings or meetings to opportunities. It is only meaningful when the denominator and period are stated.
Why it matters
Conversion rates show where a funnel leaks. Reported without a denominator, a percentage cannot be compared or trusted.
Example
Of 40 qualified leads in March, 18 booked a meeting: a 45% lead-to-meeting rate for that month.
